#Blue

Blue lips, blue veins
Blue, the color of our planet
From far, far away

Here have some more music

Once upon a summer day I gave you a list of music. I thought that was fun, so I am doing it again, this time once upon a fall day. I love music.

My life's soundtrack: (if my life was made into a movie ALL of my music would have to be played in the background. Which means there would be an excessive amount of "riding in a car scenes" wherein the main character, that would be me, gazes out of the car window longingly at freeways and trees, and music plays.)

new soul by yael naim.
everything at once by lenka.
mushaboom by feist.
bruises by chairlift.
the love club by lorde.
reading time with pickle by regina spektor.
roar by katy perry.
my own sinking ship by good old war.
electric twist by a fine frenzy.
silver lining by rilo kiley.
the show by lenka.
one way or another by one direction.
pompeii by bastille.
such great heights by the postal service.
sweater weather by the neighborhood.
the fox by ylvis.
things that stop you dreaming by passenger.
money tree by walk off the earth.
all alone by fun.

P.S. My camera has arrived!!!

My Latest Infatuation

I'm in love with greenhouses.

When I was younger, gardening meant spending forever in the hot sun picking weeds in order to grow vegetables that I didn't even eat.

But then I got older, and discovered that some people grow entire gardens just for flowers, and pretty plants, and herbs, and you don't even have to grow cucumbers if you don't want to. And they even use these things called greenhouses, where you can grow things all year round, without getting sun burnt.

I get to work in the greenhouse at school sometimes. Those are my favorite school days.

Maira Kalman & Marc Johns

Occasionally I happen upon an artist or a writer that I absolutely adore. Their words or their drawings remind me of myself, and looking at their works just make me happy, because it makes me think I'm not the only one who creates stuff like that! Once I found Maira Kalman, who used to have a column in the New York Times opinion pages called "The Principles of Uncertainty," which she ended up turning into a book. Everything she creates is so simple but so inspiring to me. Here is a sample of her loveliness:

And I just found another person who's drawings just make me happy. I don't know, its just that I absolutely love drawing, but I never do anything extravagant, or super realistic or anything, I just draw very simple stuff. My favorite thing to do is draw pictures for song lyrics. I'll show you what I mean in just a second.

So, this new man's name is Marc Johns. I find him to be fascinating. Ah the random thoughts he comes up with! See look --

Yes, fascinating is a good word for Marc Johns. I just want to go look at all of his pictures.

Now about drawings for song lyrics. I love my music, especially the words. And sometimes I just love a lyric so much that I just have to draw a picture of it. Like this--

Music of The Day: The inspiration for my drawings! Ghost of Corporate Future by Regina Spektor. Flowers in Your Hair by The Lumineers. If I Die Young by The Band Perry.

Inspiration of The Day: Maira Kalman and Marc Johns, of course.
